Projects: The co-operative is in start-up mode and preparing to request site control in order to conduct feasiblity studies of various wind and hydro sites in and around Muskoka.

Water, wind and solar electricity generation opportunities are lucrative under the Feed in Tariff program. Participation in the program is available in Muskoka subject to the approval of the Ontario Power Authority.

We recognize the importance of scenic flow and propose to maintain a minimum scenic flow of 10-20 Cubic Meters per second during the months of July and August or we will not operate.

Pre-feasibility assessment of Bala Falls South indicates significantly fewer negative impacts than a development at the North Site.
What do you think?
Protecting existing and historic use by the public
Construction of a facility here
may present significant negative impacts:

Construction in the South Channel may not impair the value of this treasured site.

In the event the current application is refused by the Minister of the Environment the co-op could be given the opportunity to utilize this resource to produce clean energy and share in the benefits of the Feed in Tariff program.

Members of the public are regularly seen enjoying themselves at Bala Falls (see 1:11 of the video). These visitors are in an area that would be out of bounds to the public if the current proposal goes ahead. There may be an alternative that does not impair the public value of this site.
