Muskoka Community Energy is committed to finding the least destructive means of tapping resources. Thereby ensuring the community and visitors to the site can enjoy the sites current uses and scenic beauty.
Muskoka Community Energy is confident our development plans can be done in a manner that:
- Provides funds to preserve and enhance traditional access in a manner that promotes safe use the surrounding landscape (including the historic portage).
- Preserves/enhances the aesthetic qualities and experience for which Muskoka landscapes are known.
- Contributes funds to improve the site as a tourist and community destination.
- Minimizes disruption to the economy (both during construction and over the life of its operation)
- Operates in strict compliance with the the Muskoka River Water Management Plan (including maintaining reasonable water levels and flow characteristics in the falls).
- Provides noticeable scenic flow guarantees
- Provides funds to protect and enhance fish and wildlife habitats in the watershed.
- Returns profits back to the Community and the Watershed
