The Green Energy Act still needs work. It isn't perfect. It can be fixed.
Community Power is THE way to ensure renewable energy projects are owned by the citizens of Ontario. Ontarians can enjoy the benefits of the Feed in Tariff program by getting involved in their community projects.
Changes can be made to ensure sites are assessed for their tourism, recreational and other values. Legitimate values must be protected early in the assessment/site release processes.
Additional changes can be made to ensure that municipal and non-profit power generators are given the opportunity to own the project and be involved in project planning.
Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.
